- Category: Hormones & libido (Research peptide)
- Also known as: modified GRF(1-29); CJC-1295 no DAC; CJC-1295 with DAC
- Routes: Injection
- Sequence: YADAIFTQSYRKVLAQLSARKLLQDILSR (modified GRF(1-29): D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15, Leu27, C-amide; DAC form adds C-terminal Lys(maleimidopropionyl) for albumin binding; 'no-DAC' = mod GRF 1-29)
- Safety tier: Strict: Avoid · Balanced: Avoid · Evidence only: Avoid
- Risk axes (0 none to 3 severe): Seen harm 3, Mechanism 2, Data gap 2, Silent harm 3, Product 3
- Positive: 38% of 29 graded reports glowing or positive, shrunk toward the 49% all-report average by 8 reports' weight
- Rank: #58 of 61 research peptides
- Graded reports: 29 (Glowing 3, Positive 7, Mixed 4, Nothing 4, Negative 6, Bad reaction 5)
- Evidence: Small human studies — Phase 2 discontinued, ~2006
- Access: Grey market
- Onset: With no-DAC, flushing, head rush and a pounding heartbeat within 1-5 minutes of the shot; sleep changes within days. Many describe a sluggish 2-4 week 'loading' phase, with body-composition change at 6-12 weeks.
- Lasts: No-DAC (mod GRF 1-29) lasts about 30 minutes and gives one GH pulse. The DAC version binds albumin, has a 6-8 day half-life and keeps IGF-1 raised for 1-2 weeks after a single shot.
- Cost per month: ≈ €14–27 (at 100–200 mcg/day, XL Peptides at €4.54/mg, trust-3 shop)
- Dose users report: 110–200 mcg/day (median 180 mcg, n=9)
- Updated: 2026-10-30

**Why Avoid under the strict bar:** GH/IGF-1 axis elevation plus FDA-noted tachycardia/vasodilatory reactions and anaphylaxis.

## What users report

Same profile as ipamorelin since they're used together: sleep and recovery praised, body-composition change slow and modest. Users split over whether HGH is simply better. The DAC version is disliked for constant GH elevation. Reports include sleep disruption, raised heart rate, injection-site welts, and one passed-out-and-seizure account.

**Effects:** sleep; recovery; IGF-1 increase

**Downsides:** flushing, head rush; sleep disruption / tachycardia at night; injection-site lumps; sluggish 2-4 week 'loading' feeling

**Risks:** GH/IGF-1 elevation, fasting glucose and insulin resistance; FDA: serious AEs incl. increased heart rate and systemic vasodilatory reaction; Anaphylaxis (Norton death; user reports)

**Typical use:** No-DAC 100-200 mcg with ipamorelin at bedtime; DAC 1-2 mg/week.

**Getting it:** Never approved; the 2006 phase 2 programme was dropped, and it is on the FDA's Category 2 list. Sold as research vials, mostly the short no-DAC form premixed with ipamorelin; some clinics still prescribe the blend.

**Stacked with:** Ipamorelin (Almost always paired, often premixed in one vial. Users usually blame the CJC half for the flush, racing heart and hives, and some tolerate ipamorelin alone.); Retatrutide or tirzepatide (Added for sleep, recovery and muscle retention during a GLP-1 cut; most of the high-upvote progress posts are this combination.); GHRP-6 or GHRP-2 (The older pre-2020 pairing, especially with the DAC form; GHRP-6 adds more hunger.); HGH (A common endpoint: many users eventually drop CJC/ipa for 1-2 IU of HGH, which raises IGF-1 far more.)

## Risk profile

- **Seen harm 3/3:** A Victorian coroner found in October 2026 that anaphylaxis from injected CJC-1295 with ipamorelin (a compounded product, taken at double the prescribed dose, in a man with asthma and cardiomyopathy) caused actor Richard Norton's death, and the TGA reported three further anaphylaxis cases with the same pair. FDA also cites tachycardia and vasodilatory reactions; a 2006 trial death was attributed to coronary disease.
- **Mechanism 2/3:** Raises GH 2-10-fold and IGF-1 1.5-3-fold for over a week per dose (a half-life of about a week), with dose-dependent heart-rate rises and flushing with transient hypotension in 30%.
- **Data gap 2/3:** Published trials dosed 63 healthy people, 46 of them once; a 192-patient phase 2 was halted in 2006 after a death and never reported results.
- **Silent harm 3/3:** Its credible long-term harm, tumour promotion and insulin resistance from IGF-1 raised for days at a time, would be silent; the anaphylaxis seen so far is sudden, sometimes after weeks of uneventful use.
- **Product 3/3:** Bought as grey-market vials or, in Australia and the US, compounded injections; CJC-1295 was among the compounds in the 6,441-sample quality study.
- **Never if:** Active cancer or a history of cancer; Heart disease or a history of anaphylaxis; Asthma; Diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance; Pregnancy or breastfeeding (no human reproductive data)

## Studies

- [Teichman et al. 2006: prolonged stimulation of GH and IGF-I secretion by CJC-1295 in healthy adults](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16352683/) (rct, 2006): Two placebo-controlled ascending-dose trials (ages 21-61): one injection of the DAC form raised GH 2-10-fold for 6+ days and IGF-I 1.5-3-fold for 9-11 days, with a half-life of 5.8-8.1 days and no serious adverse reactions.
- [Ionescu & Frohman 2006: pulsatile GH secretion persists during continuous stimulation by CJC-1295](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17018654/) (controlled, 2006): In healthy men aged 20-40, one 60 or 90 mcg/kg dose kept GH pulses intact but raised trough GH 7.5-fold, mean GH by 46% and IGF-I by 45% a week later.
- [Alba et al. 2006: once-daily CJC-1295 normalizes growth in the GHRH knockout mouse](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16822960/) (animal, 2006): Daily injections restored normal body weight, length and composition in GH-deficient mice and expanded pituitary somatotroph cells; dosing every 48-72 h worked less well.
- [Dominikowski et al. 2026: performance-enhancing peptides acting on the GH-IGF-1 axis (review)](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42395176/) (review, 2026): Sets the clinical data on CJC-1295 with and without DAC against online self-dosing protocols and finds the claimed recomposition benefits uncertain; lists dysglycaemia, fluid retention, joint pain and injection-site reactions as the reported harms.
