# Ovagen

Khavinson 'liver' tripeptide EDL; its liver data sit in a patent, its published work in rat kidneys.

- Page: https://peprank.xyz/peptides/ovagen
- Goals: Gut, Metabolic & weight (Research peptide)
- Also known as: EDL; Glu-Asp-Leu; H-Glu-Asp-Leu-OH; T-35; peptide complex AC-3; Ovagen Liver; Оваген
- Routes: Injection / Oral
- Safety tier: Strict: Caution · Balanced: Caution · Evidence only: Clean
- Risk axes (0 none to 3 severe): Seen harm 0, Mechanism 1, Data gap 3, Silent harm 1, Product 3
- Positive: 58% of 4 graded reports glowing or positive, shrunk toward the 49% all-report average by 8 reports' weight
- Rank: #4 of 88 research peptides
- Graded reports: 4 (Positive 3, Nothing 1)
- Evidence: Animal only — The liver claim rests on the developers' 2006 patent (rat partial hepatectomy and cirrhosis, guinea-pig toxicity, and 34 chronic-hepatitis patients given injections), never published in a journal. Everything peer-reviewed on EDL is rat kidney work by a Ukrainian team co-authoring with the Khavinson institute, plus kidney-cell cultures; the group's own 2021 review of liver peptides covers Livagen (KEDA), not EDL. No published gut study was found.
- Access: Grey market
- Onset: Not felt acutely; the reports judge it over a course, and one X user noticed less bloating within days.
- Lasts: Taken as 1-month capsule courses repeated every 3-6 months, or 10-40 day injection courses from a 20 mg vial; no report says how long any benefit lasts.
- Cost per month: ≈ €50–90 (researchers' estimate)
- Updated: 2026-10-30

## What users report

Too few reports to judge, and the few are vague. On Reddit only one person said how it went: he injected a 20 mg vial over a course while quitting alcohol, felt much better and recommends it, but says he cannot separate the peptide from stopping drinking and did not check his liver enzymes. Three posts on X: one user felt no improvement from Ovagen or Pinealon, one credits it for a junk-food binge without the usual bloating and called it the most noticeable of four bioregulators, and one says it helped his and his wife's liver health without giving numbers. Nobody reports a measured change in ALT, AST or bilirubin. Felt nothing: 1 of 4 first-hand reports; too few to judge.

**Effects:** claimed: normalised ALT and bilirubin in chronic hepatitis (developers' patent only); feeling better and more energetic during a course (one user, while quitting alcohol); less bloating after heavy eating (one X user)

**Downsides:** no effect for some (one X user felt nothing); impossible to separate from lifestyle changes made at the same time; grey-market vials are dosed 10-50x higher than the capsules with no published rationale

**Risks:** In the developers' own cell work EDL raised proliferation and lowered the p53, p16 and p21 ageing and cell-cycle brakes in kidney cells, and the patent reports more dividing liver cells after partial hepatectomy; a single-group signal of unknown meaning; Grey-market injectable vials: purity, sterility and identity unverified

**Caveat:** Evidence that Ovagen does anything for the liver is a patent, not a paper: the peer-reviewed EDL work is all in rat kidneys and kidney cells, and the gut claim has no study at all. EDL is a tiny acidic tripeptide with no named harm pathway beyond a single-group proliferation signal, so the verdict reflects thin data rather than a credible risk, but there are no published human safety data, and injected grey-market vials (at up to 10 times the capsule dose daily) are a different exposure from the capsules.

**Typical use:** Grey-market vials: 200 mcg to 1 mg subq a day until a 20 mg vial is used; the patent's injections ranged from 1 mcg to 5 mg IM daily for 10 days. Capsules: 1-2 capsules (0.1-0.2 mg) twice a day with meals for 1 month, repeated after 3-6 months (manufacturer).

**Getting it:** Two products share the name. The Khavinson-line Cytogen capsules (peptide complex AC-3, listing leucine, glutamic and aspartic acid) hold about 0.1 mg synthetic peptide per capsule and are sold as a food supplement by bioregulator shops; Western research vendors, Swiss Chems among them, sell 20 mg vials of EDL powder for injection. Despite the name it has nothing to do with ovaries. Svetinorm is the Khavinson liver extract and Livagen (KEDA) a different liver tetrapeptide.

**Stacked with:** Livagen (The usual follow-on for liver courses; the one Reddit user moved from Ovagen to Livagen.); Vesugen, Pinealon and other bioregulators (X users run it in a set of four (Ovagen, Endoluten, Vesugen, Vladonix), and Khavinson material pairs it with Cartalax in a rotating 30-day protocol.); TUDCA or milk thistle (Suggested alongside it for liver support by people cycling steroids; no reports of the combination.)

## Risk profile

- **Seen harm 0/3:** No serious adverse event appears in any source or first-hand account; the developers' patent reports none in 19 injected hepatitis patients. The zero reflects almost no documented human exposure (an unpublished patent example and four first-hand posts), not reassurance.
- **Mechanism 1/3:** No named pathway to serious harm. The only signals are single-group: in kidney-cell cultures EDL raised proliferation and lowered p53, p16 and p21, and the patent reports more dividing liver cells after partial hepatectomy in rats. Unreplicated and tied to repair models, so speculative; the same group's rat kidney studies and 6-month guinea-pig toxicity found no harm.
- **Data gap 3/3:** Registered nowhere as a drug, and no peer-reviewed human data for EDL: the only human figures are a 34-patient chronic-hepatitis example in the developers' patent. Published work is rat kidney studies and kidney-cell cultures, none in liver or gut.
- **Silent harm 1/3:** With no credible mechanism, rated on the most plausible harms: injection-site or allergic reactions to grey-market vials and stomach upset from capsules, which are noticed at once and stop with the course.
- **Product 3/3:** The Reddit report and grey-market listings (Swiss Chems and others, 20 mg vials) are injectable powder of unverified purity and sterility; the Khavinson-line capsules (0.1 mg per capsule, sold as a supplement) are the lower-risk alternative some X users take.
- **Never if:** Pregnancy or breastfeeding (no human reproductive data); Hepatitis, cirrhosis or alcoholic liver disease used in place of medical treatment and monitoring
